Candy Cane Science!!

This morning after Mr. Roer did morning announcements he came in with a special package that arrived over night.  The package was really really cold.  We quickly suspected it might be from the North Pole.

Mr. Roer said it was made out to Elf Amber, which the students know is my name from when I lived at the North Pole.  They were so excited and demanded that the package be open immediately.  Of course, I was so excited to see what my pal Santa might have sent me to we dug in!  We first found a letter from Santa, and Rudolph somehow got a hold of it and ate the corner.  Silly Reindeer.

The kids were so excited to hear that Mrs. Claus fixed up my old elf uniform.  They BEGGED me to try it out right away.  With some encouragement from Mr. Roer, I decided that the kids deserved to see the sight!  I tried it on and they were SO excited.  I told them I would have to take it off for the rest of the day, because I want to save it for Friday!

Santa also sent us candy canes so we can do Candy Cane Science this week.  Today we started with taste testing... the best part of candy cane science!  We taste tested Sweet Tart, Peppermint and Wintergreen candy canes today!

Tomorrow we will do some more candy cane science, including experiments with disolving candy canes and sink/float tests.  We are SO excited!

Today was holiday sock day and the kids did not disappoint!  Tomorrow is Candy Cane Day, which is PERFECT for our second day of Candy Cane Science!
